If you are a father struggling to understand your legal rights, maintain contact with your children or work out what steps to take next, you do not have to navigate it alone.
The Mark Williams Foundation, in partnership with DadsWork SCIO, is hosting its first Father Support Evening in East Lothian. The evening will offer fathers a welcoming space to access free, informal guidance from a family lawyer, connect with others who may be facing similar circumstances and find practical support without judgement.

What to expect
A family lawyer will be volunteering their time to provide informal legal guidance for fathers dealing with separation, child contact arrangements or uncertainty about their legal position. You do not need to already have a solicitor or be involved in court proceedings.
The evening is there to help you better understand your options and what your next steps could be.
Alongside the legal guidance, there will be an opportunity to meet other fathers, share experiences and access support from the DadsWork team in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Refreshments will also be available.
Why this matters
The Mark Williams Foundation exists to help protect children’s rights to meaningful relationships with loving fathers.
By working with legal professionals who are willing to volunteer their expertise, we hope to make early guidance accessible to more fathers and help more families find a way forward.
If you know a father who could benefit from the evening, please share the event with him.
Free to attend. No appointment necessary. Just drop in.
